We are thrilled to now offer an innovative and novel, clinically proven treatment for patients suffering with chronic vertebrogenic low back pain (CLBP), many of whom may have previously been diagnosed with discogenic low back pain. This is a population that has historically had few effective options.

The treatment is called Intracept^® – a minimally invasive, implant-free outpatient procedure that takes about 60-90 minutes. Research over the past 30 years has concluded that vertebral body endplates are a significant source of chronic low back pain and that the basivertebral nerve (BVN) – located within the vertebral body – transmits pain from damaged and degenerated vertebral endplates. Intracept stops the basivertebral nerve from transmitting these signals.

The Intracept Procedure is supported by multiple high-quality clinical studies, including two level one RCTs and five-year outcomes data. Key findings include:

• An improvement of more than 20 points in mean Oswestry Disability Index (ODI)* and over 2cm reduction in mean Visual Analogue Scale (VAS)* at 3 months in both RCTs²
• Statistically significant improvements vs sham and standard care comparators²
• Improvements in pain and function are durable, lasting more than five years post-procedure²
• 79% of patients indicated they would have the Intracept procedure again for the same condition²
• Significant decrease in patients using opioids or injections long-term²
• Effectiveness data from two community practices demonstrated similar improvements in function and reduction in pain as seen in previous highly controlled studies²
